Did you know that drinking coffee is associated with decreased likelihood of type 2 diabetes, Parkinson's disease, and dementia, and fewer cases of certain cancers, heart rhythm problems, and strokes?
Plus, drinking coffee could support brain health, reduce the risk of depression, and increase your life expectancy.
With all of those amazing benefits we set out to find the perfect cup of Joe at the best coffee shops in Huntington Village.
Since we’re located right on Main Street in Huntington it wasn’t hard to find some amazing coffee shops just a stones throw from our new location.
So, if you’re looking to reap all of the amazing health benefits of coffee, or just an afternoon pick-me-up, we’ve got the spot for you.
Here are the 5 best coffee shops in Huntington.
Soul Brew
Soul Brew is a funky little spot just south of Main Street at 387 New York Ave. They have a great selection of organic coffees, lattes, and espressos with some quirky options like Cocoa Puffs and Cinnabon Lattes.
They also have a complete food menu with healthy options like the Local Bowl and Healthy Panini, and some not so healthy options too. Did someone say lavender French vanilla waffles? 🤤
They also have a selection of teas and cold coffee beverages like nitro cold brew and iced coffee.
Try the Aerocano, an iced americano aerated to create a bubbly and smooth texture.
Check ‘em out here.
Roots Juice Bar
Roots Juice Bar and Cafe, also just south of Main St on New York Ave offers much more than coffee.
Although they do offer the standard coffee, tea, and latte experience, Roots prides itself on “bringing fast, affordable, healthy, immune boosting foods to the community of Huntington Village.”
Their extensive menu includes toasts, sandwiches, bowls, smoothies, juices, eggs and more! Of course we came for the rose matcha latte but stayed for the gluten-free mac and cheese and ginger shot.
If you’re health-minded about your nutrition this is the cafe for you in Huntington.
Catpurccinos
Catpurccinos may be the most unique coffee shop on our list! Located right next door at 322 Main St, Catpurccinos is a “cat cafe, ”which acts as a living space for foster cats and kittens - that also happens to serve craft food and beverages."
If this seems like an odd mix, you can rest assured the cat area is completely separate from the food and coffee. So even if you suffer from allergies, you can admire the animals from afar.
The idea is to bring people and animals together in the hopes of people rescuing these foster cats who need a loving new home. It’s a brilliant idea and we love how Catpurccinos, much like our own business, is taking a new slant on local business and offering something unique, but also for a good cause.
They have a full coffee and espresso bar with many cat-themed drinks, as well as a complete food menu with vegan options.
Stop in for a quick pet or a Jennipur Aniston; a lavender and honey latte topped with whipped cream and honey drizzle.
Meow.
Southdown Coffee
Southdown Coffee offers the most “purist” coffee experience on the list, as they import their beans from around the world with “an emphasis on supporting a supply chain which values the people and environments that produce great coffee.”
They have a selection of organic coffees and teas, as well as lattes and espresso drinks. In fact, they have imported coffee from Peru, Kenya, Brazil, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Columbia, Honduras, and El Salvador. So if you're an experienced coffee drinker looking for a new taste, try Southdown.
For a no-frills coffee experience with exceptional coffee, healthy food options, and a wide selection of different beans from around the world this is your place.
They are located north of Main St at 210 Wall St. Get more info here.
Stella Blue Bistro
Stella Blue is another totally groovy coffee shop located just north of Main Street on New York Ave.
Stella’s offers much more than coffee and is known for “serving groovy foods with organic and vegan/gluten-free options, with all baking done on premise.”
Their coffee is self-described as “the best organic coffee in the galaxy!” They’ve got groovy smoothies, vegetarian options, breakfast served all day, and fresh made doughnuts to go with your out-of-this-world coffee.
